How to Start a Conversation with Girls

By Kaylie Sankt

Because of the possibility for rejection, dating can be difficult. It's important to make a good impression as everything that follows depends on it. So, here are some tips that can be used to start a good conversation with women:

1. It seems simple, but you have to remember that girls, like you, are human. When they are out looking for someone, they harbor the same nervousness and fear of rejection that men have. When you first exchange words with her, it is okay to be a little jittery. In a way, it's a compliment.

2. Avoid using pick-up lines. Pick-up lines just don't work too well. Just because one may have worked for you in that past or you know someone whom it worked for, doesn't mean they do. It's most likely something else that captured the woman's attention, not a pick-up line. You need to see ladies as a bit smarter than that. They probably know pick-up lines better than guys.

3. Find common interests: Are you familiar with the books she is reading? Do you both have pets? Or do you have the same political beliefs? These are great ways to get a conversation started.

4. Keep in mind the "KISS" principle (Keep it short and simple). "Hello" is a safe opener. Look into her eyes and show her a smile. If she returns the smile or takes a glimpse at your lips while returning the smile, consider it a good sign.

5. It is better that you give her your number rather than requesting hers. You will know that she is into you if she calls you. Plus, you won't have to worry about what if she purposely avoided your call.

You may want to try these suggestions. It may help you successfully approach a woman and leave a lasting positive impression.
